Description: This man had a skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) on the top of the ear. He underwent removal of the cancer and reconstruction using a skin graft taken from in front of the ear. The procedure was done completely under local anesthesia without an IV. The after picture is only at one month, and the scar will fade even more over the next few months.

Description: This woman in her early 30’s wanted to improve the appearance to her forehead to give a less “tired” appearance.
Details:
Before and after pictures after Botox injection to the forehead area. She is at rest in these pictures and not trying to move the forehead. The vertical lines bewteen the eyebrows have faded. The horizontal lines on the forehead are not as visible. The eyebrows remain nice and even.
These pictures show the patient before and after with trying to move the muscles on the forehead. After the Botox, she is able to produce faint vertical lines between the eyebrows which signifies she still has some muscle movement to maintain a natural appearance.

Description: This woman in her early 30’s wanted to remove brown spots in the cheeks. She had tried topical bleaching creams with minimal success. She underwent laser removal with an Erbium laser. On the left side only some of the lesions were removed. This was her first treatment so typically only some of the areas are treated to first determine the patient’s response to the laser at a particular setting. In general this is a good principle to follow since every patient’s skin may react differently to any particular laser even at the same settings.
Details:
The right cheek spots are gone. Several brown spots have been removed on the left but she will require an additional laser procedure to remove the rest.

Description:
This gentleman had prior surgery in another country 8 years ago and now presented with severe nasal obstruction causing sleep difficulties. He underwent revision nasal surgery primarily to improve his nasal breathing. However, this case shows how closely linked cosmetic and functional problems can be.
Details:
Notice before revision surgery, the middle portion of the patient’s right side of the nose is collapsed and the patient’s right tip of the nose is droopier than the left. In the post-op photo, the right nose collapse has been filled in and the tip is more symmetric.
The patient did not have any desire to make any significant changes to the profile. The nose after surgery is less pointy.
On the base view, note the improvement in the tip of the nose, now more symmetric, and the middle of the nose (columella) is straighter.
