Digital imaging has been an invaluable tool recently to enable the patient and the surgeon to better communicate. The procedure is simple – several digital photographs are first taken of you from different angles. Dr. Liu then performs all of the digital manipulation of the images himself on a computer, to best ensure that the images represent what he feels is a realistic result. Numerous procedures or various combinations of procedures can be shown. You can then have an idea if the result is something you are pleased with or not. He will try to give you a realistic expectation. He will not “overdo” the results to give you an unrealistic expectation.

Always remember that digital imaging or computer imaging should not be taken as the definitive result. There is no way to predict or guarantee a result since everyone heals differently. If surgery were as simple as manipulating the computer, then finding the right surgeon would be so much easier!
